The diary for 2009 is already filling up and looking forward to a new season is certainly helpful to keep motivated during the dark and cold Winter months, especially as we will not be able to get away on holiday this year. It is always exciting setting new goals and challenges for each horse or pony and setting a training strategy. Bring on the New Year! coming soon... Under the "Stud" section of the website you will find an interactive tool showing features of the Stud and Mac.

| Mac (Moss-side McLaren) already has mares booled in for next season and plans are underway for him to begin his ridden career which is very exciting. He will be aimed at novice classes in 2009. | The end of one career and the beginnning of another
Golden Needle - after a successful career eventing is now enjoying retirement at home in Perthshire & looking forward to having our first in a long line of "Little Needles"! Found by our great friend Clare Ryan, Miggs was originally bought from Ann O'Grady, Co. Limerick, Ireland as a 5 year old. She started her Eventing career with my elder sister Ibby competing up to Advanced and 2**. Miggs had time off in 2003 due to an injury before re-starting her Eventing career with me in 2005.
In our first season together Miggs took me from my first Intermediate event at Witton Castle in the Spring to double clear and 4th in my first Advanced at the same event that Autumn. Miggs went on to finish 12th and Best Under 25 at Blair 3*** in 2005, double clear at Chatsworth CIC*** in 2006 and again completing Blair 3*** in 2007 where we received best Scottish Rider and Best U25. |

| Trailtrow Tass is the latest addition to the stud. Owner/breeder Gillian McMurray has very kindly given her to me to breed from. She is full sister to the well know and successful Olympia ponies Trailtrow Taransay and Tarf. | ||
LATEST NEWS - EVENT HORSES |
Trowan Moulin has now completed a fantascic season showing under saddle and is now enjoying a very well deserved holiday out on the hill at Connachan. There are no plans for Mouli as yet for the 2009 season, he has been a pony of a lifetime and has already achieved lifetime ambitions for both his rider and breeder by the age of eight. He is currently unbeaten in six dressage outings and this may well be his next career, so look out for him flying the Trowan performance flag outside the showring! |

Miggs (Golden Needle) was recently graded Head Stud Book by Sport Horse Breeding (GB) and the score she was awarded placed her in the top ten mares graded in 2008 from 109 entries. |

| Vinka has had a fantastic season with four runs - two wins and two good placings. Next season she will be aiming for some Intermediates and possibly Burgie and Blair CCI*, though the plan is still to take her slowly and give her as much time as she needs. | ||
| Crafty (Classic Cut) has been getting progressively better this year and completed a confident clear Novice Cross Country at Thirlestane. She has already come back better after her holiday and is looking forward to some BSJA and dressage training. Her aims for next season will be Novices and hopefully Blair CCI*. | Always amazing across the country, it is appropriate that Miggs' final round was a clear inside the time at Blair CCI***. She also won the Scottish Young Event Rider Showjumping in Spring 2008 to conclude her competative career. | |
| Cruiser (Cronkil Cruisin) is a new addition for next season. She is not the conventional event horse model but she loves to jump and is very brave, I think she will be a great member of the team. Having done very little dressage or cross-country I will be spending the Winter getting to know her and preparing for Spring Pre Novice events. | Many thanks to all at Balcormo where Miggs was sent for AI and held in foal first time - so typical of her not to let me down! Miggs is thoroughly enjoying a well-earned retirement and is due to foal on 2nd May 2009 to Advanced event stallion Up with the Lark. |
